About Studio Lirico

After having had activities in Prague (Czech Republic) and Saint Petersburg (Russian Federation), Studio Lirico is now expanding these activities to Tallinn and, very soon, to the Republic of Croatia.

Studio Lirico is an international association that aims at promoting musical and vocal education for young opera singers who, after completing their musical studies, enter into the professional world of singer-actors. Studio Lirico could be defined as a link between academic studies (the conservatoires) and the real world of Opera.

The Studio Lirico Project was conceived by Maestro Talmage Fauntleroy during the 80's. And now, after a ten year´s pause, is resumed by Maestro Paolo De Napoli. The aim of the Project is to offer the singers involved, the achievement of the professional technique which appertains to the canons and style of the Italian tradition of Belcanto. They are offered both actoral and musical training, thereby enabling them to undergo the daily practice and routine of the singing profession.

Another aspect that Studio Lirico aims at dealing with, is alleviating the problems that students of opera singing, both those already qualified and those who are not yet so, find at the moment of their entrance into the real professional world. This aspect is normally omitted by conservatoires and music academies. Therefore Studio Lirico aims at assisting artists, even those who have already become accustomed to overcoming the difficulties of mise en scene and the stress of dealing with a public, by giving them the opportunity of gaining experience in concerts, chamber music recitals and other exchanges between the several international branches of the Association. Students will be always in touch with world famous artistic directors and professional lyrical agents who will follow and supervise their activities and help them take their first steps in the world of Opera (and Musical Theater ?.)
